Don't assume that there are just a few families that are dissatisfied with RHONDA BAROVSKY. I have not heard one single good compliment on RHONDA BAROVSKY. Rhonda is the most dispised women in WALNUT CREEK and Contra Costa County Court system. Rhonda attends and speaks at PARENTING symposiums, and lies through her teeth. She may represent herself to the legal and therapy community as a well respected Clinical License Social Worker, but she does not even try to make it work for the children. She never even interviewed my daughter who because she did not want to hear the truth, needs and desires of this young lady.
A year and one half later, Rhonda has distroyed our family and has never once tried to bring the family together for the children's sake. Rhonda is lazy, never answers her phone, never returns email. Her office is a mess, she can never find anything and sends invoice states twice a year.
THE LEGAL COMMUNITY HATES THIS WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a recent stepmom, I am so grateful for Rhonda.
ReplyDeleteShe knows that children and ex wives lie. She soo understands that proving alienation is time consuming. We were so grateful that she understood our claims without involving a proving process or believing HER child against our word. She knew that nothing would come of asking the child or doing a fact finding mission.
Now we can live the happy lives we deserve!

DeleteI thought this was always suposed to be about the children! If you think that Rhonda should not hear the childrens voices and view their reactions, then you are a fool. It is very obvious that you are only a step-parent. Ex-wives may lie but so do fathers! Adults at not always as they appear so visual is very important when it comes to children. I would never recommend Rhonda to anyone. She will make recommendations without seeing the truth!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a step-parent. I'm a mother. And I fully support Hater's thoughts. Rhonda Barovsky was the court-appointed mediator for the child custody portion of my violent divorce (my ex husband had a restraining order in place for multiple threats against me with a 9-inch carving knife).
ReplyDeleteRhonda refused to accept the details of the court order, insisted we attend mediation with my children and ex spouse together. She refused to review the facts in our case and told my children in front of us that I was a bad mother.
She lost my payment check to her and wrote multiple threats to me to replace the check she had lost. Her accounting practices are sloppy, as is her appearance and scheduling practice.
Lastly, when presenting my complaints about her to my attorney, he admitted that she had been fired from the Contra Costa Family Support division as an employee prior to starting up her private practice, and that her reputation in Contra Costa was very bad. He said she was the cheapest mediator we could afford and that is why she was hired.
If there is a hell, I've lived it, thanks to Rhonda. She "counseled" my children and they told me she said they should live away from me. It has been over 7 years since our last meeting with her, and it took me 7 years to redevelop a dialogue and relationship with my children because of her bad influence.
If Rhonda Barovsky is recommended to you - run. Don't stop. Find another mediator. Anyone has to be better than this careless, sloppy and unprofessional creature.

DeleteRhonda Barovsky is a sociopath she believes her own BS, it is hard to believe that she still has her license. My daughter is still traumatized at age 22 by Rhondas actions of not listening to my 12-14 year old daughter. My daughter and I missed out on precious years because of this women. Her damage lasts a lifetime, do not hire her it will be the biggest mistake of your life. The only way to get rid of her is to stop paying her.

DeleteDr. Barovsky is one of the most well-respected child custody evaluators in the Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Whenever there is an evaluation, one parent is probably going to be unhappy. It is clear that HATER was a parent who didn't get what she wanted. She had the opportunity to challenge the report but apparently that didn't go over. I have used Dr. Barovsky for both men and women and on either sides of a move-away case. She is not biased and she is revered by the bench and bar. I recommend her highly.

DeleteMaybe you should show your real identity if you want to give support to someone like this? Rhonda has single handed destroyed my family. She sided with my abusive and manipulative ex husband and completely ignored the court order when she conducted her BFA in our case. She was rude, unprofessional, and unethical. It is a shame that she still has license. If such a person is well respected at the court system, no wonder there are so many broken families and heart wrenching stories.

DeleteRhonda Barovsky refused to listen to my 12 year old daughters desire to be with her mom. Rhonda sent us to a therapist who observed our mother-daughter bonded relationship as very strong. The therapist that Rhonda chose was horrified that Rhonda was refusing to facilitate our mother - daughter relationship. She would only be recommended for a legal party that wishes to destroy a family and punish children for their parents divorce. I am the HATER, I did end up getting what I wanted, custody of my children, with NO HELP FROM RHONDA. SHE IS A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE for children. Her HEART IS BLACK. This is not about the parent being unhappy, this is about Rhonda damaging children's lives.

My daughter refused to participate in Rhonda's parental alienation and my daughter moved in the middle of high school so that she could be with HER MOM. So I urge family's that want to have successful parent child relationships to AVOID RHONDA BAROVSKY she is TOXIC and has no appreciation for parent child bonding. The only person that stood up for Rhonda Barovsky must be a family law attorney who likes Rhonda because she is the only mediator in contra costa that is willing to take bribes to destroy child - parent relationships. ReplyDeleteI thought I was alone... I too am living the hellish aftermath of Dr. Barovsky’s recommendation to the court. I wanted to to go to trial to contest however I was told by my attorney that she would testify that I had distorted perception of reality! I was also told by a second attorney I had 1 in 300 chance of winning against a custody evaluation recommendation as well as it being a very expensive battle. I have been going through stage 3 Cancer treatment throughout this process and the stress has been horrible. It was emotionally abusive when she “ tested me” on our second meeting by saying she was thinking of giving my husband 100% custody’s because I used the term “ my child” frequently ( which was completely untrue)
Dr. Barovsky did not call 25 of the 26 references I provided, did not take my child’s therapist feedback, she did not allow my child to have a voice, she did not review documents I provided, she did not fully take police reports or court documents into consideration, she took my statements out of context, she blatantly lied to me and on the report.
I wish I could go into detail but she makes you sign documents stating you cannot post reviews hence nothing recent on Yelp...I am so incredibly regretful I trusted her. She misled me to the end. I agree with the people her stating she favors men.
The court ordered mediator recommended my husband have supervised visitation 2 x week maximum 4 hours and told him based on what she read he would never get 50% custody. Dr. Barovsky recommended 50% which the court adopted after repeatedly telling me not to cancel the parental evaluation at my husbands request for the sake of my child’s safety. I am baffled, traumatized and still in shock.
Mothers, please do everything you can to research before deciding to select Dr. Barovsky.
Totally agree 100% with you Faye. Mothers STAY AWAY!! She has no soul and is not for the children at all. She favors men and dislikes women. What a sad sad sad soul she is. She is one of the most insecure woman i have ever met and for her to use her power for her own self worth by hurting children is straight true darkness. Laws of the universe will solve her ugliness and dark heart. She will pay heavy through karma for all the hurt and damage she has done to all especially the children as what she does continues on throughout their life forever much longer and ours as well. Multiply all times and lives affected to all that she will have to face and deal with through karma. It will happen! She too will go through the anguish and pain that she has done to so so many. DeleteDO NOT WORK WITH RHONDA BAROVSKY, PsyD, LCS12902. She is a sick person. She meets with both parties then picks a favorite and uses all of her tools to hurt the parent she does not like. If you think she has made recommendations to punish you, you are probably right. She is power hungry and if you even slightly disagree with her she will silence you or punish you as a result. I am so deeply disgusted with how unethical she is. If you are working with her, put ALL of your thoughts in writing to her - do not assume that if you tell her something in a meeting she will take it into consideration. She will pretend like you never said things, say you agreed to things you did not and twist your words to favor the parent she likes. Record EVERYTHING and put everything in writing so you have something to show the court if she lies. I cannot stress to you enough how dishonest and unethical she is. Please do everything you can to avoid working with her and if you are working with her you can write to the court and request someone else. If you have been mistreated by her, please file a complaint with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Even an anonymous complaint or a complaint as an alias helps so the Board knows what is going on. I believe she is a sociopath ad gets off on hurting people because she thinks she is in a position of unchecked power. She does not check facts, she is sloppy, she will overcharge you (CHECK YOUR INVOICES CAREFULLY) and she is simply very bad at her job and her license needs to be removed. She is supposed to be helping children but she is too insecure and power hungry and lazy about how she does her job that she hurts families.
